What could be more encouraging for an aspiring novelist than having coffee with a professional (award winning!) writer… and him telling you your story idea is solid?

That happened today, when I met another local immigrant to my region of France. We chatted for more than two hours on a number of topics, and both discussed current book projects. Curiously, both books touch on artificial intelligence and on consciousness and the idea of personhood — woven in completely different ways, but with so many matching threads.

Needless to say, my confidence is boosted and I’m that much more committed to climbing this hill!
