While I’m not feeling fully ready to write actual scenes from my stories yet, I am going to be honing my skill with writing, and I’ll be doing so every day.

The patron goal is one shared story per week, for patrons at the “Weekly Story” level. And while this is more of just a moment than an actual story, it served as an exercise for me: I need to learn how the people live on The Island — a place that is very different from any island on Earth. So this scene is me, also, figuratively “dipping my toes in” to the process.

So: How do their “roads” work? Do they even HAVE roads, or are they just paths? How do the people dress? How are the villages arranged? What might they see on a trip from one village to another. How do they feel about “ekroy” (which is, of course, plural for “ekroy”)… and now YOU are asking, “Arthur, WTF is an ‘ekroy’?” Ahhh… Trust me: I do have an explanation for those furry little monsters — an answer which will be shared in days or weeks to come, I promise.

So here is the first exploratory “moment” on The Island, which you’ll learn here, has a name!
